Officers from the Major Crash Investigation Section are investigating a fatal crash that occurred in Maddington last night, 25 September 2021.
About 7.10pm, a white Holden Commodore was travelling north on Tonkin Highway (approximately 200 meters north of Gosnells Road East) when it left the road and crashed into a tree.
The driver (only occupant), believed to be a 20-year-old woman, died at the scene from the injuries she received.
The Commodore ignited after the impact and members of the public attempted to douse the fire but were unable to do so due to the intensity of the fire.
Investigators urge anyone with information, mobile phone or dash-cam vision of the crash, or of the Holden Commodore travelling in the area prior to the crash, to call Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000 or report the information online at www.crimestopperswa.com.au.
