Mandurah assault arrest

Mandurah Detectives have charged a 22-year-old man after it is alleged he assaulted a man in Mandurah on Friday 9 July 2021.

It is alleged around 12.40am, the victim (22) was with a friend on the Mandurah Foreshore on Mandurah Terrace when he was approached by the charged man who is known to him.

It is alleged the charged man struck the victim with a metal pole to the head, causing the victim to fall to the ground unconscious.

The victim was conveyed by ambulance to the Peel Health Campus and later transferred to Royal Perth Hospital for surgery of a skull fracture.

A 22-year-old man from Lake Clifton has been charged with Grievous Bodily Harm and is due to appear before the Mandurah Magistrates Court on 30 July 2021.
