Manuka Pool re-opens with two million-dollar facelift

Manuka Pool will reopen to the community tomorrow (Saturday 30 November) following extensive upgrades to the iconic venue.

The $2.42 million project undertaken by the ACT Government has preserved the heritage of the site, ensuring the pool can be enjoyed by Canberra families for generations to come.

The upgrade to Manuka Pool is part of the Government’s commitment to build and renew infrastructure across the city.

The recent works include upgrades to the filtration system and pool structure; new pool tiles and water inlets; renewed seating; and a fresh coat of paint for the main building.

To celebrate the opening, Canberrans will be treated to free entry on Saturday.

All the restorations have been done with the original designs in mind, and the new tiles have returned the pool to its original form, including hand painted depth markers and copies of the original “SHALLOW” and “DEEP” tile markers.

We hope to see many Canberrans visiting Manuka Pool to escape the heat this summer – taking part in swimming lessons, doing a few laps or catching up with friends and family

The ACT Government is investing in infrastructure that will ensure our city remains one of the world’s most liveable and will continue to focus on the priorities that matter most: health, education, transport and community services.
