Melton City Council appoints new CEO

Roslyn Wai has been appointed Melton City Council’s new CEO.

Roslyn’s most recent roles have been with Hume City Council as Director Communications Engagement and Advocacy and as Hume’s Interim CEO until July 2021. Prior to joining local government in 2019, Roslyn was Executive General Manager Strategy and Governance (Corporate Secretary) with Coliban Water.

With a Master of Business Administration and Master of Arts (Professional Communication), and as a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and an Associate Member of the Governance Institute of Australia, Roslyn brings a wealth of knowledge to the organisation.

City of Melton Mayor, Cr Goran Kesic said Roslyn was an experienced and highly regarded executive leader committed to delivering positive outcomes for the community.

“We are delighted to welcome Roslyn to the role of CEO, and congratulate her on this appointment,” Cr Kesic said.

“As a skilled leader with strong experience in organisational strategy, stakeholder engagement and people management, Roslyn will be an asset to Melton City Council.

“Her effective leadership, diverse experience and strong community focus will be invaluable as the city continues to navigate the prospects and challenges of rapid growth.

“The City of Melton is one of Australia’s fastest growing areas. It’s an exciting time full of opportunity and we’re confident that Roslyn’s leadership and dedication will help Council to create a thriving future for our community.”

Roslyn will bring to Melton more than 30 years’ experience working across local government, water, tertiary education and media sectors.

“I am delighted to be joining Melton City Council in 2022 to work for and with the community and Council,” Roslyn said.

“It’s an exciting vision that the community of Melton has created for its future, and I look forward to being a part of the team that brings it to life.”

Roslyn has a Master of Business Administration and Master of Arts (Professional Communication), is a graduate of the Australian Institute of Company Directors and an Associate Member of the Governance Institute of Australia.

She will begin her role as CEO on 26 January 2022. Her first official duty will be to attend Council’s Australia Day celebration at The Willows.
