Million Dollar Fish Season 9 Extended To April 30!

NT Government

At the start of Season 9 of the Million Dollar Fish the Territory Labor Government promised to make someone a millionaire, and we are doing everything we can to make that happen.

Fishos now have an extra month to catch a million-dollar barra in Australia’s richest fishing competition, with the season officially extended to April 30.

Million Dollar Fish was due to end on 31 March 2024, but with no winner yet, the season has been extended to give everyone more time to catch a red-tagged million-dollar fish.

Right now there are more than 80 million-dollar barra in Top End waterways, meaning there has never been a greater chance of reeling in one expensive fish.

Further, to increase the chances of someone becoming a millionaire before the season’s new deadline of 30 April, the location of where the fish worth a million dollars were released have been revealed. A number of initiatives have been introduced during the season to encourage one lucky fisho to reel in ‘the big one’. This has included releasing more fish with million-dollar tags, upgrading the majority of $10k fish to million-dollar fish, and sharing maps of where the fish worth the big bucks were released.

Season 9 of the Million Dollar Fish has seen the highest ever number of registrations for the annual event with the world’s richest fishing competition attracting local, interstate and international attention.

To claim any prize money from a tagged fish, you must be registered for Season 9. Register now for free at here.
