Emergency response crews across Victoria will head to Bendigo at the end of the month to take part in the Victorian Mine Rescue Competition.
Organised by the Minerals Council of Australia (Victoria) the event has gone from strength to strength over three decades and is now an important part of the industry’s emergency response preparation.
To be held between 23 and 25 August, this year’s event will see teams compete in simulated scenarios testing their underground rescue, firefighting, first aid and technical rope rescue skills.
The event also provides opportunities for mine operators to share their response methods and training approaches.
