Rough sleepers will benefit from the largest housing response in the state’s history with a program to secure more homes.
The $36 million Together Home project will deliver stable housing and wraparound support for hundreds of people experiencing homelessness.
The NSW Government will secure homes in the private rental market and work with 19 community housing providers, specialist homeless services and healthcare workers.
The housing, homelessness and health workers will provide ongoing support to help people take the vital steps in breaking the cycle of disadvantage.
During COVID-19, The NSW Government has invested more than $70 million to prevent and respond to homelessness across the state.
More than $1 billion has been invested in the last financial year to provide additional support to the homeless.
Minister for Families, Communities and Disability Services Gareth Ward said Together Home will help find people a place to call home.
“The critical next step is supporting them with the services they need improve their health and wellbeing, and to rebuild their lives,” Mr Ward said.
