More Than 80 Barra Now Worth Million Dollars

NT Government

With just over two weeks left of Australia’s richest fishing competition the Territory Labor Government has upped the ante again.

More $10,000 tagged barra have been changed to be worth a million dollars each, taking the grand total of Barramundi worth a million dollars to more than 80.

There are still $10k fish waiting to be reeled in, but from today the chances of hooking a red tagged barra worth a million dollars are through the roof.

As Season 9 of Million Dollar Fish draws to a close, a number of initiatives continue to be introduced by the Territory Labor Government to ensure one lucky fisho becomes a millionaire.

Initiatives over the past 6 months to ensure someone does sink the elusive barra include upgrading the majority of $10k fish to million-dollar fish, and sharing maps of where the fish worth the big bucks were released across the Top End’s five main fishing regions – Darwin, Kakadu, Katherine, Tiwi Islands and Arnhem Land.

To claim any prize money from a tagged fish, you must be registered for Season 9. Register now for free at here.
