SM Entertainment

Monday, September 27 – Global chart-toppers NCT 127 have entered the history books in Australia on Friday, becoming the fourth K-Pop group to debut in the Top 20 of the ARIA Albums Chart at No. 16 following the release of STICKER.

The album – which has already surpassed two million album-equivalent sales globally – was also the sixth highest selling physical album in Australia last week, and hit No. 1 in South Korea, No. 3 in the US, No. 8 in Japan and No. 40 in the UK.

STICKER is the group’s third album via their label SM Entertainment, and distributed in Australia under Universal Music Group’s new Virgin Music imprint.

Since the album’s release on September 17, lead single ‘Sticker’ has also found its way onto major playlists on Spotify, Apple Music, Amazon Music, YouTube and Tidal, while Aussie fans of the group pushed the album into the No. 1 spot on the Apple Music K-Pop chart.

Timothy Janes, General Manger, Virgin Music ANZ, said: “Virgin Australia is excited to be part of the NCT 127 album launch via our global partnership with SM Entertainment and look forward to being involved with future K-Pop releases in the ANZ region.”

Gavin Parry, SM Entertainment, ANZ, said: “NCT 127’s local chart result shows that the group, and more generally K-Pop, has become very relevant to the ANZ market and we can expect to see many more of SM Entertainment’s K-Pop artists impacting our charts in the near future.”

NCT 127 (Taeil, Johnny, Taeyong, Doyoung, Yuta, Jaehyun, Jungwoo, Mark & Haechan) released the music video for the album’s eponymous lead single, ‘Sticker’, which they also performed last week to rave reviews on The Late Late Show with James Corden.
