- Dr Jennifer Pope appointed to the EPA board
Environment Minister Stephen Dawson has appointed Dr Jennifer Pope to the board of the Environmental Protection Authority (EPA) for a five-year term, commencing today.
Dr Pope is internationally recognised for her leadership in impact assessment research and practice, and has 30 years of experience in environmental management and sustainability in Western Australia and internationally across a range of sectors.
Dr Pope is currently a Senior Lecturer in Environmental Management at Edith Cowan University, a Fellow of the University of Cambridge Institute for Sustainability Leadership UK, an Extraordinary Associate Professor of the North-West University South Africa, and an Adjunct Research Fellow of the Swinburne University of Technology (Sarawak Campus).
Mr Dawson took the opportunity to thank Dr Jim Limerick, the retiring member, for three years of excellent service to the EPA board.
Dr Pope joins the EPA chairperson Dr Tom Hatton, deputy chairperson Robert Harvey and members Elizabeth Carr and Glen McLeod on the independent board.

“I would also like to express my thanks to Dr Jim Limerick – the retiring EPA member – for three years of service to the board.
“Dr Limerick’s experience in strategic policy and planning and in the operations of the Western Australian Government has contributed to the deliberations of the EPA and its valuable advice to government.”
