First female Chief Executive Officer of the Land Development Corporation (LDC) appointed.
A strategic reset will sharpen the corporation’s focus on regional development and housing supply to deliver stronger growth and economic outcomes.
Since 2003, LDC has been delivering key industrial precincts, supporting housing, and enabling investment across the Territory.
The Finocchiaro CLP Government is marking a new era for the Land Development Corporation, appointing the corporation’s first-ever female CEO as it undergoes a strategic reset.
Minister for Lands, Planning and Environment Joshua Burgoyne was pleased to announce the appointment of Ms Hannah Barraza as the new CEO to lead LDC through its next phase.
“I would like to congratulate Ms Barraza on her appointment as CEO of LDC. She brings strong leadership, experience and a clear mandate to deliver the corporation’s strategic reset and our government’s priorities,” Minister Burgoyne said.
The strategic reset was shaped through consultation with industry, government and the community.
It will strengthen the corporation’s focus on strategic priorities and coordination in mature markets such as Darwin, while taking a more active role in delivering housing, enabling development and supporting workforce growth in regional areas.
“LDC will complement the private sector, not compete with it,” Minister Burgoyne said.
“During our year of growth, certainty and security, we are positioning LDC to drive stronger outcomes for the Territory and ensure government effort is targeted where it is needed most, ensuring the corporation delivers the greatest value for Territorians and industry.”
Ms Barraza said the strategic reset sharpens LDC’s focus on the areas where it can deliver the greatest impact for the NT, including regional development, housing supply, strategic industrial land and enabling critical infrastructure to support future economic growth.
“By working closely with government, industry and local communities, we can help bring forward practical projects that support investment, jobs and long-term growth,” she said.
“I am honoured to continue leading LDC as we move into this next phase. The strategic reset gives us a clear mandate to focus our effort, strengthen delivery and support projects that make a real difference for Territorians.”
While the strategic reset is undertaken, LDC will continue to deliver all existing projects and commitments to provide certainty for industry and the community.
