Greater Shepparton City Council has officially launched the Greater Shepparton Emergency Dashboard, bringing together critical information in one easy-to-use platform.
Developed in collaboration with the CFA, SES, Victoria Police and the local community, the dashboard has been designed to meet the needs of residents, businesses and visitors across Greater Shepparton.
Providing live updates on bushfires, floods, weather warnings, power outages and road closures, the dashboard functions as a central information hub and can be a trusted source of information during emergencies.
Residents are encouraged to explore the dashboard by visiting shepp.city/emergency. The webpage is accessible 24/7 and provides immediate access to local data, helping residents prepare, stay informed and respond effectively during emergencies.
Mayor, Cr Shane Sali, encouraged residents to visit the dashboard and become familiar with its features.
“This is a valuable tool that will help our community stay informed, particularly during emergencies,” he said.
“If an emergency occurs, residents can rely on the dashboard for the latest warnings and alerts. It is also a useful resource for everyday information, including road works and closures, and weather updates.”
Following the 2022 flood events, Council identified the need for a more streamlined approach to communicating urgent information. The dashboard shares updates and warnings from multiple agencies into one platform, helping to reduce confusion in high-stress situations.
“During an emergency, information can come from many different sources. This platform brings that information together in one place, making it easier for the community to stay informed, prepare and act when it matters most,” Cr Sali said.
This project is funded by the Australian and Victorian Governments as part of recovery efforts following the 2022 and 2024 flood and storm events impacting Greater Shepparton.
