Environment Minister Stephen Dawson has appointed Professor Fiona Haslam McKenzie to the board of the Environmental Protection Authority (EPA) for a five-year term, commencing today (October 11).
Professor Haslam McKenzie has extensive experience in population and socio-economic change and regional economic development, and is currently the co-director and senior principal research fellow at The University of Western Australia’s Centre for Regional Development.
Professor Haslam McKenzie has served on several government and private sector boards.
Mr Dawson took the opportunity to thank Elizabeth Carr AM, the retiring member, for eight years of excellent service to the EPA.
Professor McKenzie joins EPA Chairman Dr Tom Hatton, Deputy Chairman Robert Harvey and members Glen McLeod and Dr Jenny Pope on the independent board.
As stated by Environment Minister Stephen Dawson:
“I would like to welcome Professor McKenzie to the EPA, and I am confident her experience across government and the private sector will be of great value to the important work of the EPA.
“I would also like to express my gratitude to Elizabeth Carr AM who is retiring from the EPA after eight years of dedicated service. Ms Carr’s experience across private, government, community and educational sectors was invaluable to the EPA throughout her two terms on the EPA board.”
