New facilities for students at New Hope School

Students with disability will benefit from new facilities at New Hope School in Dural paid for by the Coalition Government.

Member for Berowra Julian Leeser today announced the Morrison Government would provide $800,000 to build new special needs classrooms, a breakout space and amenities for students.

New Hope School is operated by Pacific Hills Christian School with the express intent of it providing quality Christian education to students with special and specific learning needs in the context of a mainstream school setting.

“New Hope School has a wonderful school community, and the new facilities will further enhance the learning environment for students and teachers,” Mr Leeser said.

“New Hope School provides its students with the specialist learning support that they require. It has enriched our community, and I am incredibly proud it is part of the Berowra electorate.”

Minister for Education Dan Tehan said the Morrison Government was providing record funding for all schools.

“School funding has increased every year under our Government and we are providing record funding for government schools, for Catholic schools and for Independent schools,” Mr Tehan said.

“Through our Quality Schools Package, there will be more Federal Government money for disadvantaged students, including those from remote and regional areas, those with disability and Indigenous students. Our Government is also focussing on other ways to improve support for students with disability, including through the curriculum and ensuring that new and practicing teachers have the skills to support the individual learning needs of all students.

“We are delivering real, needs-based funding that is matched by national reforms that will drive better results and outcomes.”
