New partnership to help lower emissions and boost jobs

Minister for Resources Jaala Pulford has signed a contribution agreement with Japan Oil, Gas and Metals National Corporation (JOGMEC) which will see funding support for the CarbonNet project.

If it progressed to commercialisation, CarbonNet will contribute to emissions reductions and a goal of net zero by 2050, whilst bringing new jobs to Gippsland.

Designed to capture emissions from multiple sites, CarbonNet is the most technically advanced carbon capture and storage (CCS) hub under development in Australia.
