New public toilet proposed for Berwick Springs Wetlands Reserve

Council is proposing to install a new public toilet in the Berwick Springs Wetlands Reserve to service all users of the reserve.

The Berwick Springs Wetlands Reserve Masterplan was endorsed by Council in 2016 and identified the need for a public toilet to be installed within the reserve.

Council undertook community engagement in October 2022 to seek feedback on the proposal to upgrade the Berwick Springs Wetlands Reserve west playground which proposed to include a new public toilet facility. Following community feedback and consultation with Melbourne Water, the public toilet has been relocated to a more centralised location.

The new public toilet facility is now proposed to be installed along The Esplanade, adjacent to the Berwick Springs Wetlands south playground to facilitate easy access and ensure the toilets are highly visible and safe.

The design will include two unisex toilets and an accessible toilet including baby change facilities. The design is modern and attractive with good levels of natural light and ventilation to ensure safety and accessibility.

Share your feedback on the proposed public toilet before consultation closes on 16 February 2024.
