The Tasmanian Government is lifting the admin burden off the shoulders of our teachers and school staff by delivering a single, streamlined student management system.
Included as a key deliverable in the 2026-27 State Budget, the new system will reduce the number of interfaces currently used by school staff by delivering a contemporary and integrated student and school management system.
It will provide a simpler and more consistent experience for families and carers, including clearer communication with schools and easier access to important information.
Minister for Education, Jo Palmer, said this important reform will give our teachers more time to focus on supporting students.
“Switching between multiple systems and entering the same information more than once is a completely unnecessary burden, and that’s why we are cutting this red tape,” Minister Palmer said.
“This new system will be developed hand-in-hand with our teachers and school staff, ensuring it meets their needs.
“As the people on the frontline who use these systems every day, their feedback will be front and centre as the new, streamlined system is designed and rolled out.
“Through our Government’s 2030 Strong Plan for Tasmania’s Future, we’re building an even better education system.”
The new system will be rolled out in stages, starting in 2027. Existing systems will remain available during the transition where required, with training, readiness activities and support built into each rollout stage.
