New Zealand First celebrates SuperGold Card upgrade

NZ First Party

New Zealand First Leader Winston Peters has applauded today’s pre-Budget announcement by the Minister for Seniors Tracey Martin to upgrade and enhance the SuperGold Card.

“The SuperGold Card is a flagship initiative of New Zealand First. We believe this is a vital tool in empowering senior citizens to remain independent,” said Mr Peters.

“The funding will include an upgrade to the SuperGold Card website and develop an app which will help ensure seniors are aware of all of the benefits of the card, including the businesses which offer SuperGold Card discounts.

“The discounts from the SuperGold Card are designed to help older New Zealanders and reduce their costs of living, with many on a fixed income.

“In addition, this Budget announcement also includes funding for digital literacy training. This will contribute to extending the benefits of the digital platform upgrade to as many SuperGold Card holders as possible.

“New Zealand First promised further development of the SuperGold Card, which has been neglected for many years. We are proud to be in government delivering that to our seniors today,” said Mr Peters.
