NHMRC consultation on options to reach gender equity in Investigator Grant scheme

NHMRC

The National Health and Medical Research Council’s (NHMRC) vision is a gender diverse and inclusive health and medical research workforce to take advantage of the full range of talent needed to build a healthy Australia.

Join us at a series of events to have your say on options to reach gender equity in the NHMRC Investigator Grant scheme.

NHMRC will hold a series of open forums that will include a presentation by NHMRC CEO, Professor Anne Kelso AO, and an open discussion with attendees on the options under consideration.

On 15 July 2022, NHMRC released a Discussion Paper: Options to reach gender equity in the Investigator Grant scheme. NHMRC has not yet decided whether to introduce changes to this scheme or, if so, which path to take.

The outcomes of this engagement with the research sector will inform NHMRC’s decision on whether to introduce any changes for the 2023 Investigator Grant round which is due to open for applications in January 2023, with grants commencing from 1 January 2024.

A series of open forums will be held in locations across Australia. See the following table for locations and times. Access the link for the session you wish to attend to register for the event.

If you are unable to participate in these events, you can provide your feedback on the options by completing this survey, which will be open until 17:00 (AEST) Tuesday 16 August 2022.

A list of Frequently Asked Questions is also available.
