No horseplay in Parkdale

Police are investigating following the attempted theft of a statue in Parkdale last month.

Investigators believe a vehicle was used in an attempt to steal the bronze horse statue, which is located on Beach Road, about 3.20am on 29 June.

The offenders were unsuccessful in removing the statue however succeeded in knocking over and damaging the monument.

It is believed at least two offenders fled the scene in a black 4WD ute.

Police arrested 29-year-old Mordialloc man in relation to the alleged attempted theft, he was later released pending further enquiries.

Anyone who witnessed the incident or a similar vehicle in the area on the morning of the incident is urged to contact Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
