Nominations for 2024 Youth Week Ambassadors now open

  • Leadership opportunity for young people aged 18-25
  • Youth Week WA is an annual celebration of young Western Australians

The State Government is calling for nominations from people aged 18-25 who are interested in being Western Australia’s Youth Ambassadors for next year’s Youth Week WA celebrations.

Youth Week WA is an annual celebration of the contributions young people make to their communities, giving them an opportunity to express their ideas, raise issues, and participate in a range of fun and educational activities which support their interests and development.

The WA Youth Ambassador is a volunteer role. Two Ambassadors will be selected to be part of the Young People’s Planning Committee for Youth Week and act as public spokespeople for Youth Week WA.

The two Ambassadors will also have proactive input into the design and delivery of events and strategies for Youth Week WA, help assess Youth Week grant applications, and attend events as a WA Youth Ambassador.

Applications close on Sunday, 9 July 2023 at 10pm.

As stated by Youth Minister Simone McGurk:

“The WA Youth Ambassadors program is a fantastic way for young people to develop their leadership skills and highlight the issues that are important to young people across the State.

“It gives young people ownership and direction of Youth Week activities – ensuring Youth Week is planned by young people for young people.”
