Nominations are being invited for the prestigious 2024 Western Australian Heritage Awards, which recognise and celebrate the State’s diverse heritage projects, innovation and achievements.
Celebrating its 32nd year, the Heritage Council of Western Australia’s award program acknowledges the outstanding contribution of individuals and organisations to heritage conservation, adaptive reuse, interpretation, tourism and promotion in Western Australia.
As well as showcasing the very best of heritage practices, the awards educate the wider community about the importance of conserving our cultural heritage for future generations.
A new ‘Conservation or Adaptive Reuse of a Local Heritage Place’ category has been added this year, to recognise outstanding work undertaken at a local heritage place and its benefits to the community.
The 2024 award categories are:
- Voluntary Individual Contribution;
- Professional Contribution;
- Contribution by an Organisation;
- Interpretation Project;
- Heritage Tourism;
- Conservation or Adaptive Reuse of a Local Heritage Place; and
- Conservation or Adaptive Reuse of a State Registered Place.
