Campaspe Shire Council’s most significant grant programs are now open for application. The Community Grants Program provides financial support to not-for-profit community groups for projects, exhibitions and/or performances, while the Business Assistance Grants Program provides financial support to businesses to either diversify and expand or to encourage new businesses to start up.

Deputy Mayor Colleen Gates said both grant programs were hotly contested.

“In the previous round, which was open in March this year, community organisations such as Echuca Village Tennis Club were successful in their Community Grant application, receiving $4,000 for the restoration of a synthetic grass court. Rushworth and District Concert Band were also successful in their application, receiving $2,236 to digitise their printed sheet music.

“I strongly encourage all community groups who are planning projects, exhibitions or performances to put forward an application.”

Cr Gates said local businesses should consider applying for a Business Assistance Grant.

“In the previous round, Clubhouse Flowers were successful in their application, receiving $1,500 for refrigeration equipment. Pinto Pantry was also successful, receiving $3,000 for social media marketing.

“Within this program, there are four different funding categories depending on the kind of business operated.”

They are as follows:

  • Start up / new
    • Operating less than one year
    • 1 – 10 full time equivalent employees
    • Maximum grant of $3,000
  • Small business
    • 2 – 10 full time equivalent employees
    • Maximum grant application of $5,000
  • Medium business

    • Maximum grant application of $10,000
  • Large business
