NSW police appeal for dashcam, witnesses after crash near Shellharbour

Police are appealing for witnesses and dashcam footage following a crash in Shellharbour earlier today.

Emergency services were called to the Princes Highway at Kiama Downs, shortly after 7am (Thursday 12 November 2020), following reports of a four-vehicle crash.

Police have been told a white Dodge Ram with a trailer, travelling southbound, crossed to the incorrect side of the road and collided with a truck travelling northbound. Two cars travelling behind the truck were also involved in the crash.

The 40-year-old male utility driver was airlifted to St George hospital in a serious but stable condition.

The male truck driver was taken to Wollongong Hospital in a stable condition.

Officers from Lake Illawarra Police District established a crime scene and commenced inquiries.

Shortly before the crash, police were notified of a white Dodge Ram that collided with a number of cars on Addison Street and Shellharbour Road, Shellharbour, and failed to stop.
