NSW police appeal to locate vehicle after armed robbery at Parramatta jewellery store

Police are appealing for public assistance to locate a vehicle following an armed robbery at a jewellery store at Parramatta this afternoon.

About 2.35pm (Sunday 5 December 2021), police were called to a shopping centre at Argyle Street, Parramatta, following reports a man – armed with a hammer – had entered a jewellery store, smashed a number of glass cabinets and stole several items of jewellery.

The man ran from the store, before entering a black vehicle waiting on Argyle Street.

An employee that was inside the store at the time, was not physically injured.

Officers from Parramatta Police Area Command established a crime scene and commenced an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the incident.

As inquiries continue, police are appealing to locate a black Nissan X-Trail with NSW registration plates – CQ4 6FA – last seen heading southbound on Marsden Street.

Police are also appealing to identify a man who may be able to assist with ongoing inquiries.

The man is described as wearing a surgical face mask, sunglasses, a dark-coloured jumper with a grey hood, dark-coloured trackpants with a white stripe, and blue and white running shoes.

Investigations are continuing.
