Police have charged a man with intimidation, aggravated break and enter and firearm offences in the state’s north-east yesterday.
Officers from Oxley Police District allege the man, aged 36, intimidated a 37-year-old woman at a home on Johnston Street Tamworth, on two occasions in December 2019.
About 3am on Sunday 2 February 2020, police allege the same man attempted to break into a motel room on Ringers Road, Tamworth, before leaving the scene.
Yesterday (Thursday 5 March 2020), police stopped the man while he was driving on Nundle Road, Tamworth, about 6.50am. He was arrested and taken to Tamworth Police Station.
A short time later, police executed a search warrant at a home on Nundle Road, Woolomin, where they seized two rifles, three scopes, ammunition, cannabis, a railway detonator and a plastic water bottle with tape.
The man was charged with a number of offences, including aggravated break enter and steal, two counts of intimidation (DV), four counts of possession of unregistered/unauthorised firearm, not keep firearm safe, possess ammunition, and possess drug and goods in custody.
He was refused bail and is due to appear in Tamworth Local Court today (Friday 6 March 2020).
