A man has been charged following a dangerous driving incident in Byron Bay’s CBD yesterday afternoon.
About 4.50pm (Friday 28 June 2019), police attended the intersection of Fletcher and Lawson Street after receiving reports of a collision.
It appears the driver of a Ford utility lost control as it drove through the intersection, becoming airborne and crashing into several parked cars.
The driver, a 43-year-old man, was arrested at the scene and breath tested, returning a negative reading.
He was taken to Byron Bay Police Station and charged with drive manner dangerous. He was granted conditional bail to appear in Byron Bay Local Court on 15 July 2019.
No one was injured.
