A man will appear in court today charged after allegedly hitting three people with a car in Sydney’s north-west yesterday.
About 9.30pm (Sunday 22 November 2020), a 36-year-old man got into a verbal argument with a 19-year-old man, who was sitting in the driver’s seat of a Toyota Corolla, on Aldridge Street, Stanhope Gardens.
Police have been told the driver allegedly accelerated towards the man, who was standing on the road, and struck him. The man suffered a broken ankle.
The driver then allegedly drove away but returned a few seconds later and swerved the car towards a 43-year-old man and a 36-year-old woman, hitting the pair.
The woman suffered bruising to her right leg and a suspected broken wrist, and the man received minor injuries.
The car then left the scene and emergency services were called.
NSW Ambulance paramedics treated the woman and two men before taking them to Westmead Hospital.
Officers from Quakers Hill Police Area Command established crime scenes and commenced an investigation.
A short time later and following inquiries, police attended a home on Aldrige Street, Stanhope Gardens, where they arrested a 19-year-old man and seized a Toyota Corolla about 9.50pm (Sunday 22 November 2020).
He was taken to Riverstone Police Station, where he was charged with three counts of predatory driving, drive furiously in motor vehicle do/cause bodily harm, two counts of fail to stop and assist after impact cause injury, and owner not disclose identity of driver/passenger.
The man was refused bail and is due to appear in Blacktown Local Court today (Monday 23 November 2020).
The man is known to the three people.
