NSW police charge man after methylamphetamine found during vehicle stop at Gulgong

A man has been charged after methylamphetamine was seized during a vehicle stop in the state’s Central West.

About 10.20am yesterday (Wednesday 27 November 2019), officers attached to Orana Mid Western Police District stopped a Toyota Landcruiser on Nandoura Street at Gulgong for the purpose of a random breath test.

The driver, a man aged 40, was spoken to and during a subsequent search of the utility, police allegedly located a clear resealable plastic bag containing 8.4 grams of methylamphetamine and drug paraphernalia secreted in the vehicle.

The man was arrested and taken to Mudgee Police Station where he was charged with possess prohibited drug and supply prohibited drug – more than indictable, less than commercial quantity.

He was granted conditional bail to appear before Gulgong Local Court on Thursday 6 February 2020.
