A man has been charged over alleged dangerous driving after his passenger was seriously injured in a single-vehicle crash in Sydney’s south west last month.
Officers from Bankstown Police Area Command were called to a bridge over train lines on Miller Road, Chester Hill, about 10pm on Wednesday 13 May 2020, after a black Nissan Pulsar left the road and hit a power pole.
The 17-year-old male passenger sustained severe head injuries and was taken to Liverpool Hospital, where he is continuing to undergo treatment. He remains in a serious condition.
The 18-year-old driver was also taken to hospital for treatment to minor injuries and mandatory testing.
Following extensive inquiries by officers from the Crash Investigation Unit, the driver was issued a Court Attendance Notice for dangerous driving occasioning grievous bodily harm-drive manner dangerous and negligent driving (occasions grievous bodily harm).
His licence has also been suspended.
He is due to appear at Bankstown Local Court on Wednesday 12 August 2020.
