NSW police charge man after police uncover hydroponic cannabis set-up in garage at Kelso

A man has been charged with multiple drug-related offences after police uncovered a hydroponic cannabis set-up in the state’s Central Tablelands.

On Tuesday 15 June 2021, officers attached to the Chifley Police District Proactive Crime Team at Bathurst commenced an investigation into hydroponic cannabis cultivation at a home in Kelso.

Following extensive inquiries, police attended a home on Douglas Court, Kelso, and spoke with the male occupant.

Police will allege a hydroponic cannabis set-up was located in the garage.

A crime scene warrant was executed at the home, during which police seized approximately 3.8kg of cannabis leaf, 16 cannabis plants, hydroponic lighting and equipment.

The man, aged 34, was arrested and taken to Bathurst Police Station.

He was charged with enhanced indoor cultivate cannabis for commercial purpose, supply cannabis – more than indictable quantity, and possess prohibited drug.

He was granted strict conditional bail to appear before Bathurst Local Court on Wednesday 7 July 2021.
