NSW police charge man after sexual offences on trains

A man has been charged after a number of alleged sexual related offences on trains since December last year.

About 11.30pm on Wednesday 25 December 2019, a 35-year-old woman was travelling on a train between Cabramatta and Liverpool when a man allegedly performed an act of indecency in front of her.

At 7pm on Friday 27 March 2020, a 23-year-old woman boarded a train at Liverpool Railway Station when a man allegedly exposed himself to her.

At 3.10pm on Sunday 19 April 2020, a 31-year-old woman was travelling on a train between Liverpool and Cabramatta when a man allegedly spat inside the carriage before verbally and physically intimidating her.

All incidents were reported to police with the Police Transport and Public Safety Command commencing an investigation.

Following extensive inquiries, about 11.30am yesterday (Wednesday 20 May 2020), a 24-year-old man presented to Fairfield Police Station where he was arrested.

He was charged with two counts of carry out sexual act with another without consent, stalk/intimidate intend fear physical etc harm (personal), behave offensive manner in/on public passenger vehicle etc, travel or attempt travel without valid ticket – adult, and spit in or on public passenger vehicle, train or public area.

He was refused bail to appear at Liverpool Local Court today (Thursday 21 May 2020).
