NSW police charge man after shooting at Bomaderry

A man has been arrested following a shooting in Bomaderry overnight.

About 10.45pm (Tuesday 25 August 2020), two men were shot by a third man while in the backyard of a property on Cambewarra Road, Bomaderry

An 18-year-old suffered a gunshot wound to his stomach and was flown to Liverpool Hospital, while a 25-year-old man suffered a gunshot wound to his elbow and was taken to Wollongong Hospital.

Both men remain in hospital in a stable condition.

Officers from South Coast Police District attended and established a crime scene.

Following extensive inquiries, about 9.30am today (Wednesday 26 August 2020), detectives arrested a 35-year-old man at a home on Douglas Street in Nowra.

The man was taken to Nowra Police Station, where he was charged with the following offences:

– discharge firearm intend cause grievous bodily harm (x2)

– possess unauthorised prohibited firearm

– acquire etc pistol – subject to firearms prohibition order

– use prohibited weapon contrary to prohibition order

– possess or use a prohibited weapon without permission (x2)

He was refused bail and is due to appear in Nowra Local Court tomorrow (Thursday 27 August 2020).
