NSW police charge man over armed robbery at Shoalhaven

A man has been charged following an alleged armed robbery in the Shoalhaven yesterday.

Just after 11.30am yesterday (Friday 14 May 2021), officers from South Coast Police District responded to reports of an armed robbery at a service station on Greenwell Point Road, Greenwell Point.

It is alleged a man, armed with a firearm, entered the store and threatened the male attendant, demanding money. He then fled with cash.

The attendant was not physically injured.

A crime scene was established, and detectives commenced an investigation.

Following inquiries, police attended a nearby home on Jervis Street, and arrested a 21-year-old man.

He was taken to Nowra Police Station and charged with robbery whilst armed with a dangerous weapon.

The man was refused bail to appear before Wollongong Local Court today (Saturday 15 May 2021).
