NSW police charge man over spate of malicious damage at Wollongong

A man has been charged after three parked cars were allegedly damaged in the Illawarra region last night.

About 8.20pm (Sunday 16 August 2020), police were called to Keira Street, Wollongong, after three parked cars had their windows and mirrors smashed.

Officers from Wollongong Police District attended and found a 35-year-old man still at the scene.

He was arrested and taken to Wollongong Police Station, where he was charged with three counts of malicious damage and custody of knife in a public place.

The local man was refused bail to appear at Wollongong Local Court today (Monday 17 August 2020).
