NSW police charge man with drug supply, weapons offences at Albury

A man has been charged with drug and weapon offences following an investigation into an alleged home invasion in the state’s south.

Earlier this week (Tuesday 14 October 2019), Detectives attached to Murray River Police District were called to investigate an alleged home invasion in Thurgoona, Albury.

Officers located and seized more than 80 items, including more than $50,000 cash, mobile phones, computers, drugs, a firearm and prohibited weapons.

A large number of gel blasters were also located and seized.

A 22-year-old man was arrested and taken to Albury Police Station, where he was later charged with 20 offences relating to possession and supply of prohibited drugs, deal with proceeds of crime and possession of a firearm, ammunition and prohibited weapons.

The man was refused bail and is due to face Albury Local Court today (Thursday 17 October 2019).

Police inquiries are continuing.

The public are reminded that ‘gel blasters’ are defined as a firearm in NSW and require relevant licencing or permits to have one in your possession.

Further to this, it is an offence to supply, acquire, possess or use a firearm that is not registered.
