NSW police charge man with goods in custody after crash at Little Hartley

A man has been charged after police found a plastic bag containing cash near Little Hartley yesterday.

About 5.30am yesterday (Tuesday 18 June 2019) police were called to the Great Western Highway, 20km south-east of Lithgow, in relation to a single vehicle crash.

Police observed a significant amount of debris in the east bound lanes prior to Jenolan Caves Road, where it appeared a vehicle had left the roadway and hit several road signs.

A white Audi sedan with significant damage, and its two male occupants, were located on Blackman’s Creek Road.

Officers from Chifley Police District allege one of the men, aged 25-years-old, was seen placing a plastic bag containing cash in the bushes alongside the roadway.

He was arrested and taken to Lithgow Police Station, where he was charged with having goods in custody suspected of being stolen.

The man was released on conditional bail, to appear at Lithgow Local Court on Thursday 15 August 2019.
