A man has been charged with high range drink-driving in Sydney’s north-west yesterday.

About 12.45pm (Wednesday 17 July 2019), it will be alleged a vehicle mounted a kerb on Garfield Road, Riverstone. His vehicle came to a stop where he then fell asleep.

Immediately following the incident concerned members of the public contacted police.

As the Riverstone Highway Patrol reached the scene, the man awoke and drove his vehicle off the footpath before being stopped by the officers.

A roadside breath test returned a positive reading. He was then arrested and taken to Riverstone Police Station where a breath analysis returned a reading of 0.261.

His licence was suspended and confiscated on the spot, and was issued with a court attendance notice for High Range PCA. He is due to appear in Blacktown Local Court on Monday 12 August 2019.
