A man will face court next month after being charged with high-range drink driving in the state’s Central West at the weekend.
About 9.10pm on Saturday (30 May 2020), officers from Central West Police District stopped a silver Mitsubishi Triton on Platinum Parade, Orange, due to manner of driving.
After being subjected to a random breath test, the 25-year-old male driver returned a positive result and was arrested.
He was taken to Orange Police Station, where a subsequent breath analysis returned a reading of 0.154.
The man was charged with high-range PCA and is due to appear at Orange Local Court on Monday 6 July 2020.
He was also issued a licence suspension notice.
Western Region Traffic Tactician, Inspector Ben Macfarlane said, while we are amid the COVID-19 pandemic, police will be out in force and will continue targeting dangerous driver behaviour.
“If you drink and drive, expect to be caught and have your licence suspended immediately,” he said.
