NSW police charge man with high-range PCA at Yass

Police have charged a man after he was caught driving while more than five times the legal limit in the states south yesterday.

Just after 2pm (Wednesday 17 June 2020), officers attached to The Hume Highway Patrol Command were performing stationary random breath testing on Yass Valley Way, Yass, when a Holden utility approached.

Upon seeing the RBT site, the Holden allegedly conducted a U-turn and began travelling in the opposite direction before being stopped by police.

The driver, a 51-year-old man, underwent a roadside breath test, which returned a positive result.

He was arrested and taken to Yass Police Station, where a subsequent breath analysis allegedly returned a reading of 0.294.

The Cowra man was charged with high-range PCA and his licence was suspended.

He was issued a Court Attendance Notice to appear at Yass Local Court on Friday 17 July 2020.
