NSW police charge two after armed robbery

A man and a teenager have been charged following investigations into an alleged armed robbery at a convenience store in Warwick Farm last month.

About 4.45pm on Tuesday 19 May 2020, two males entered the shop on Mannix Parade, and allegedly threatened a female staff member with a baseball bat and a tomahawk.

The pair left the store with cigarettes and cash.

The staff member was not injured.

Officers attached to Liverpool City Police Area Command attended and commenced an investigation.

Following extensive inquiries and a public appeal, a 16-year-old boy was arrested at Liverpool Police Station about 8am today (Tuesday 23 June 2020).

About 9.30am, a 20-year-old man was arrested by detectives at Sydney International Airport with the assistance of Australian Federal Police. He was taken to Mascot Police Station.

They were both charged with robbery armed with offensive weapon and refused bail.

The teen will appear before a children’s court while the man will appear before Central Local Court later today.
