NSW police charge two after firearms, vehicle, power tools stolen during break-in

Two men will appear in court today charged over an alleged aggravated break and enter in Sydney’s north west this week.

Between midnight and 5am on Tuesday 17 September 2019, it’s alleged two men broke into a home on Havelock Street, McGraths Hill, and stole 12 firearms, power tools, a motorcycle and a Toyota Hilux.

A family of four – including a four-year-old boy and a six-year-old girl – were inside asleep at the time.

Detectives from Hawkesbury Police Area Command and the State Crime Command’s Robbery and Serious Crime Squad commenced an investigation under Strike Force Ilet.

Following extensive inquiries, strike force investigators, with assistance from operatives from the Tactical Operations Unit, executed two search warrants at homes on Bolderwood Road, Blackett, and Pank Parade, Blacktown, about 4pm yesterday (Wednesday 18 September 2019).

A 29-year-old man was arrested at the Blackett home and taken to Mt Druitt Police Station.

A 35-year-old man was arrested at the Blacktown home and taken to Blacktown Police Station.

During the searches, three rifles and three shotguns were seized at the Blackett home.
