NSW police charge two with firearm offences at Windsor

Two men will face court charged with firearms offences in Sydney’s north west.

About 7.20pm yesterday (Monday 13 April 2020), a 34-year-old man was driving a Toyota Hilux along George Street, South Windsor, when a Holden Commodore pulled up alongside it at the intersection of Colonial Drive and the passenger is alleged to have pointed a firearm towards him.

The Toyota driver braked heavily, and a shot was allegedly heard.

Officers from Hawkesbury Police Area Command were notified of the incident and commenced an investigation.

Following inquiries, officers attended a home on McQuade Avenue, South Windsor, and established a perimeter.

About 12.40am (Tuesday 14 April 2020), two men, aged 22 and 47, exited the premises and were arrested.

During a search of the home, officers allegedly located and seized three gel blaster firearms.

Both men were taken to Windsor Police Station.

The younger man was charged with possess unauthorised prohibited firearm, use unauthorised prohibited firearm, possess unauthorised pistol, use unauthorised pistol and common assault.

The older man was charged with four counts of possess unauthorised prohibited firearm.

The men were given conditional bail to appear at Windsor Local Court on Thursday 11 June 2020.
