NSW police charge woman with drug and weapons offences at Young

A woman has been charged with alleged weapons and drug-related offences in The Hume region.

About 1.30pm yesterday (Thursday 27 January 2022), officers attached to the Hume Police District executed a search warrant at a home at Hills Street, Young.

During the search, police seized more than 7g of methylamphetamine (ice), cannabis leaf, prescription medication, three bottles of mace, more than $7000 cash and a mobile phone.

All items will undergo further examination.

A 53-year-old woman was arrested and taken to Young Police Station, where she was charged with possess prohibited drug, supply prohibited drug, possess/attempt to prescribed restricted substance, possess or use a prohibited weapon without permit, deal with property proceeds of crime, and owner/occupier knowingly allow use as drug premises.

The Young woman appeared in Wagga Wagga Local Court today (Friday 28 January 2022) where she was formally refused bail to appear in Young Local Court on Tuesday 1 February 2022.
