NSW police charge women after officer assaulted at Lidcombe

Two women are facing court later this month after a series of fights broke out and a police officer was assaulted in a Lidcombe park last night.

A community event was finishing around 7pm (Saturday 9 March 2019) at Wyatt Park when a fight broke out among a group of women.

Police intervened to break up the original group, but other fights began elsewhere in the park.

Officers called for assistance and the crowd was quickly dispersed without further incident.

Two 18-year-old women were arrested and taken to Auburn Police Station. One woman was charged with assault police and affray while the other was charged with affray.

Both will appear at Burwood Local Court on 28 March 2019.
