NSW police lay charges after intentional motor vehicle collision at Campbelltown

A man has been charged after it is alleged he intentionally caused a motor vehicle collision where three people were seriously injured at Campbelltown last week.

About 11am (Thursday 5 December 2019), emergency services responded to reports of a Toyota Hilux had crashed into a wall on Campbelltown Road, Campbelltown, near Queen Street.

Police were told the Hilux was travelling southbound on Campbelltown Road in the far-right lane, when it veered across the lanes and hit a wall.

Two female passengers – aged 17 and 63 – and the 70-year-old male driver were all taken to Liverpool Hospital.

Both women remain in a serious but stable condition with spinal injuries and various fractures.

Police today (Monday 9 December 2019), conducted a bedside hearing at Liverpool Hospital.

The 70-year-old driver was charged with two counts of cause grievous bodily harm to person with intent (DV – related).

He man was refused bail and is due to appear in Campbelltown Local Court 5 February 2020.

He was released from hospital and is now in the custody of Corrective Services.
