Detectives investigating a shooting in a backyard in Sydney’s south-west have laid charges against three men over their alleged involvement.
About 12.30am on Monday 25 November 2019, police will allege in court that a group of men, armed with rifles and a shotgun, jumped the back fence at a home in Marco Avenue, Revesby.
It will be alleged in court that the men threatened one of the occupants, a 35-year-old man, and three other men – aged 21, 22 and 32.
The 35-year-old man ran into the home and picked up a firearm, before allegedly firing several shots at the armed men, who fled the backyard.
No one was injured, including two horses that were in a stable at the rear of the property.
Officers from Bankstown Police Area Command attended a short time later and established a crime scene.
Detectives formed Strike Force Evaline to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident.
A 35-year-old man was charged yesterday (Wednesday 15 January 2020), and he remains before the courts.
Following further inquiries, detectives arrested two men, aged 22 and 21, at homes in Bankstown and Panania just after 7am today (Thursday 16 January 2020).
A short time later, a 32-year-old man was arrested in Balmain and all three were taken to Bankstown Police Station.
The trio were charged with shoot with intent to murder – accessory after the fact, hinder discovery of evidence – serious indictable offence, and conceal serious indictable offence.
They were all refused bail to appear at Bankstown Local Court today (Thursday 16 January 2020).
