NSW police seek information after suspicious death in Sydney CBD

Police are appealing for information after the suspicious death of a man in Sydney.

About 3pm on Wednesday 7 December 2022, emergency services were called to a hotel on Kent Street, Sydney, over concerns for a man’s welfare.

Officers attached to Sydney City Police Area Command attended and found a man deceased in the stairwell of the hotel.

Police established a crime scene and commenced an investigation into the circumstances surrounding the death of the man which is believed to be suspicious.

Following inquiries, police believe he entered the stairwell about 9pm on Sunday 4 December.

The man has since been identified as a 25-year-old Chinese national.

He is described as being of Asian appearance and aged in his twenties, wearing a black crew neck t-shirt, black jeans and khaki coloured work boots.

As inquiries continue, anyone who may have seen the man, or has information into the incident, is urged to contact police or Crime Stoppers on 1800 333 000.
