NSW police seek information after three men break into home at Bourke

Police are appealing for information after a man woke to find three unknown men inside his home in the state’s north-west.

About 1am yesterday (Monday 14 October 2019), the occupant of a home on Meadows Road at Bourke woke to find the unknown men walking within his home.

The occupant approached the two males during which one produced a small kitchen knife and threatened the man while demanding money.

Police were told the occupant armed himself with a household item as he ushered the men, including a third male standing on the verandah, out of the house.

They were last seen running from the home in a northerly direction along Monomeeth Street towards Anson Street.

Officers attached to Central North Police District were notified of the incident, during which a wallet was reported stolen.

One man has been described as being of Aboriginal/ Torres Strait Islander appearance, approximately 175-180cm tall, between 16 to 20 years old, wearing a grey hooded jumper with a face covering.

The second man is described as being of Aboriginal/ Torres Strait Islander appearance, 160-165cm tall and aged between 16 and 20.

Investigations continue.
