NSW police seek witnesses to Brooklyn crash as investigations continue

Police are appealing for witnesses or anyone with dashcam vision, as efforts continue to recover a motor vehicle that went over the Old Pacific Highway Bridge at Brooklyn on Monday night.

Emergency services were called to the location about 9.15pm (Monday 12 August 2019), after reports a dark coloured four-wheel drive had driven through a barrier into the Hawkesbury River.

A search operation commenced for the vehicle.

On Tuesday (13 August 2019), the vehicle was located in 22 metres of water. Efforts to salvage the vehicle continued yesterday (Wednesday 14 August 2019).

Inquiries to locate and recover the body of a man who was driving the vehicle continue.

The incident is not being treated as suspicious.

Officers from Kuring Gai Police Area Command are appealing for any witnesses, or anyone with dashcam vision, to come forward.

It is understood there are some witnesses who spoke to emergency services on the night, but have not provided their details to police.
